CREAF needs to incorporate a technical profile to the LIFE project REDCAPACITA2015. The contract is expected to start in January 2017, and will finish at the end of the tasks required for the project.
TASKS:
Definition
and implementation of protocols for monitoring forest biodiversity.
Design,
implementation and coordination of field sampling of forest inventories.
Processing
and data analysis.
Design
and coordination of the client applications developed in the project.
Reporting
and communication tasks of the project related to his/her working area.

Biological sciences: Bachelor Degree or equivalent
REQUIRED LANGUAGES
SPANISH: Good

Skills/Qualifications
Advanced user of database managers: SQL-Server, SQLite and PostgreSQL.
Advanced user of geographic information systems (MiraMon, QGIS, Esri ArcMap) and spatial database extensions (PostGIS).
Demonstrable experience of more than 5 years in field sampling for monitoring biodiversity and forest inventories.
Demonstrable experience of more than 5 years in managing geospatial databases, and in SQL and SQL-spatial languages.
Capacity for teamwork.
Knowledge of data processing and statistical analysis.
Catalan
and Spanish spoken and written correctly.
Specific Requirements
Master’s degree or equivalent studies in terrestrial ecology.
Previous experience in creating portals and data services.
Knowledge of formats and uses of remote sensing and GIS.
Previous experience in the use of GPS of differential correction.
Good knowledge of read and written English.
