iMMAP is a pioneering humanitarian organisation that is leading the way forward in the effective use of information management practices and principles in the service of humanitarian relief and development.
iMMAP is expanding with two large projects in Turkey, and as we expect to expand our team in the coming months, we would like to invite qualified individuals to express their interest for joining our team of specialists for short-term or longer-term assignments. We are looking for persons with very specific skills sets and working experience in such areas as:
    Geographic Information Systems
    Assessment survey design & analysis
    Database management and design
    Mobile data collection tools
    Web development
    Sector specific expertise
    Coordination
    Capacity development and knowledge management
    Training and capacity building
    Technical writing and editing
SCOPE OF WORK
The Officers will work with the iMMAP Turkey and Regional teams, and will be responsible for the spatial data, spatial analysis, websites, databases, maps, training materials and infographic products created for iMMAP Turkey.
These roles will assist in the development of the overall iMMAP strategy in collection, analysing and publishing information products under the project. This work will entail establishing templates, ensuring agreed-upon standards and branding, and ensure the accuracy of all spatial and non-spatial products, and subsequent analysis, is of the highest standard.
RESPONSIBILITIES
    Assist in the development of an Information Management project based on accepted international standards. The work will be broken down into seven key components:
    Data: Facilitate organisations to better understand the wider value of their data. Manage and release this data for re-use in varying analysis themes.
    Standards: Facilitate organisations to agree upon standards in describing and releasing their data.
    Access and services: Create services to enable the release of the data and for end users to access it.
    Investment: Encourage organisations to invest and participate in the support of this infrastructure to support geospatial information.
    Capability: Enhance the capability and capacity of organisations to contribute to a broader IM Framework via trainings.
    Governance and responsibilities: Organisations understand how they can contribute to and IM Framework and have agreed work plans to achieve this.
    Cross sector coordination: All sectors recognise that they need to contribute to and IM Framework and understand their role in the process.
    Provide inputs to the quarterly and annual reports: performance indicators (number of maps and other products realized, number of maps and other products distributed, traceability of the usage of key products by humanitarian partners).
Reporting, Monitoring and Evaluation
    The Officers will report to the appropriate International Supervisor and Regional Representative and ensure the program is based upon sound principles of design and utilize iMMAP and donor required monitoring and evaluation systems.
Representation
    Where appropriate, represent the iMMAP project team with partners, and participate in local community activities.
    Maintain effective and positive internal contacts with the Regional Representative, and other iMMAP headquarters officers and staff, and external contacts with the national and local government officials, international non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and donor agency officials, when required.
Security
    Follow security protocols as laid down by the iMMAP Global Security Advisor.
Organizational Learning
As part of the iMMAP commitment to organizational learning, and in support of the understanding that learning organizations are more effective, efficient and relevant to the communities they serve, it is expected that all team members will commit 5% of their time to learning activities that benefit iMMAP as well as individual professional development.
Accountability to Beneficiaries
iMMAP team members are expected to support all efforts toward accountability, specifically to beneficiaries of iMMAP programs, and to international standards guiding international relief and development work while actively engaging beneficiary communities as equal partners in the design, monitoring and evaluation of field projects.

Any other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
    At least 5 years’ experience in emergency response or humanitarian environment;
    Master’s degree and experience in an equivalent field for the position you apply for;
    Thorough knowledge of the UN cluster system and how it operates;
    At least 5 years’ experience in the technical field you are applying for;
    Very good English and/or Arabic skills, both spoken and written;
    Knowledge of the Turkish Language would be an advantage.
